Memorial Stone – Double Wing Design

2036

Crafted from Black India Granite, the stone carries depth, strength, and enduring presence.

Two standing wings rise with quiet dignity — each plate measuring 420 mm wide, 750 mm high, and 75 mm thick — like guardians holding memory in place. Their form echoes the upright posts of a meeting house, standing to protect and honour the stories entrusted to them.

Beneath them rests a solid base measuring 1100 × 380 × 100 mm, grounding the memorial firmly to the land. Between the wings is an intentional open space — a place left for a custom-designed Kōhatu, where a name, symbol, or whakapapa can be created to reflect the life being remembered.

This central space represents the heart — the place where loved ones continue to live, even when no longer seen. It offers whānau the freedom to share their own story and spirit, ensuring the memorial is deeply personal and meaningful.

Finished to endure the elements, this memorial is designed to stand through time. It does not speak loudly, yet it speaks with depth.

The Kōhatu represents those two loved ones who have passed, and a foundation for those whānau members who remain.

A lasting tribute, where memory is carved in stone.
