We are Mike and Karina Edmonds, located on our tūpuna whenua in Waimate North, Northland.

Mike has an extensive background in building, wholesale, export and importing.

Karina has a successful business in Rongoa Māori specialising in herbal skin balms and soap. She thrives living on her tūpuna whenua, a strong supporter of whenua Māori, enjoys her mokopuna, and is currently taking a break from her studies in the Bachelor of Laws.

Together, we have spent many years working in the retail industry. We’re here to assist and provide a service you can trust.

A valuable need arose in Tai Tokerau after the closure of a local headstone business, leaving a considerable gap in the mid-north.

In Ngāpuhi tradition, the hura kōhatu is a significant ritual that takes place usually one year after the burial. This practice honours our cultural heritage, as it involves gently uplifting the hidden kōiwi (bones) and transferring them to a final resting place, marking the end of a significant mourning period. While this practice has been replaced by the Western custom of unveiling a headstone, it is essential to remember the emotional weight and significance that the hura kōhatu holds for those who participate in it.
