Carved from premium granite, the memorial features two upright plates, each measuring 400 mm wide, 550 mm high, and 75 mm thick, with a centred cross formed between them.

The cross emerges through space — a symbol of faith that stands not above the stone, but within it, representing belief that endures beyond loss.

The Kōhatu rests on a solid base measuring 1000 × 300 × 100 mm, providing balance and permanence while grounding the piece to the whenua. The symmetrical design creates harmony, allowing space for individual inscriptions while maintaining a single, shared tribute.
